A Consequence of Alien Marriage.
“What knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband?” So Paul wrote to the Corinthians (1 Cor. 7:16). Recently a Birmingham sister who had married, but not “in the Lord,” was remonstrated with as provided for by the constitution of the ecclesia; and her husband, who cares for none of these things, intervened in the subjoined letter. It was thought the publication thereof might dissuade some sisters from putting their necks under such a yoke. The letter was sent to the recording brother. The writer’s name is, of course, suppressed.

Sir,—As it is through me that my wife does not attend the Christadelphian meetings now, I thought I had better let you know why I object to her going, hence my writing to you. Well, to tell the truth, I do not approve of my wife going so far from home to a place of worship when there are places of that description so near to us. And I do not care to accompany her to the meetings on account of not understanding the Christadelphian religion. Trusting this will settle the matter and stop further correspondence from you to my wife.—Yours faithfully,—
